Deacon David Lawrence and Family at Church of the Messiah

This Sunday, July 10, Deacon David Lawrence and his wonderful family will once again return to Church of the Messiah.  Deacon David was ordained in 2003 and immediately went into the mission field in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).  He, his wife Kris, and their five children are back in the United States on their annual summer furlough.  Join us this Sunday as we welcome back our own missionary family.  Be sure to hear all of the incredible things Our Lord is doing in the Middle East through the willing hearts of the lawrences of Arabia.

Men’s Night with the Jacksonville Sharks

It’s been way too long since football season, and way to long since the men of Church of the Messiah have spent time together as a group!  In order to alleviate both of those issues, the Men of Messiah are getting together this Saturday night (7/9/11) to see the Jacksonville Sharks play the Dallas Vigilantes at the Veterans Memorial Arena at 7pm.
We will be meeting at Chicago Pizza at the Jacksonville Landing at 5:30pm for dinner, or you can join up in front of the arena at 6:45pm to purchase tickets (in order to get adjoining seats).  The tickets range from $15 and up, and we can decide what section we’d like to be in as a group.  For more info, visit the Jacksonville Sharks web-site.
Please contact Greg McGrew to let him know if you will be attending.

Wednesday Night Services Cancelled for June 15th

This Wednesday Night, June 15th, all Church of the Messiah services are cancelled.  This is due to so many of our clergy and lay people attending the Southeastern Provincial Convocation.  This includes the Wednesday Night Bible Study and the Law Firm of Lansing Roy and Youth Group.  All regular Wednesday activities will resume June 22.  Contact the Parish Office for more information.

Have You Missed Important Church Announcements?

Have you ever missed important Church announcements and updates only to log in later and find out they were posted on the Church Web-Page?  Here is how to make sure that it never happens again.  At the very bottom of the web-page (all the way down!) there are light blue words which read “Entries (RSS) and Comments (RSS).”  Click on “Entries (RSS)” and it will take you to a page that allows you to “subscribe” to the web-page.  Your web-page will let you know when a new entry is posted on the web-page.  That way, you’ll never miss another important announcement (Like where we were today!).  Follow your browser’s directions and you’ll never be out of the loop again!

Pentecost Services in the Gooding Auditorium

Due to circumstances beyond our control, services Pentecost Sunday, June 12th, will be in the Gooding Auditorium.  The service will begin at 10:30 Sunday morning.  Sunday morning Bible Study will be unaffected.  Click HERE to see a map of Jacksonville University.  The Gooding Auditorium is building #1 on the map.

Spirit Night at Chick-Fil-A to Benefit the Youth Group

This Thursday, June 9th, Chick-Fil-A at St. John’s Town Center (click HERE for map) will donate 20% of their receipts from anyone who says, “We are here for the Spirit Night.”  This money will go to offset the cost of the Youth Events for the Summer.

Please note: this only applies to the Chick-Fil-A at St. John’s Town Center and we only get credit if you specify that you are there for the Spirit Night.

Please share this event on your favorite social network.  We reap the benefits of anyone who says they’re with us, whether we know them or not.  Also, we cannot solicit the customers who are there already.  Bring your friends; bring your kids;
