Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
We’re at that time of year where we are rapidly approaching the Feast of the Lord and Giver of Life, when we, as a communion, celebrate the sanctity of all life, but in particular the life of the pre-born. It seems at this time in human history that we are seeing an obvious fulfillment of Isaiah 60, “The darkness is getting darker, but the light is getting brighter.” The tragic brokenness and rage of self-centeredness that even demands the life of the pre-born to satisfy a desire to not be inconvenienced breaks the heart of Christ over the human condition.
He invites us to join Him to be a light that shines out of darkness by loving them in their delusion, and by wholeheartedly giving ourselves to protecting the vulnerable infants in the wombs of their mothers. Recently I have thought of how many babies’ lives have been saved because of the anointed work of CEC for Life and our dear Father Terry Gensemer.
The offering we take up on Sunday, January 18th enables CEC for Life to continue, on each of our behalf, the extraordinary work of rescuing the poorest of the poor—the unborn infant in the womb—who unknowingly needs someone compelled by the love of Christ to deliver them from the “evil one” who has come to kill, steal, and destroy. May our offering on the Feast Day not reflect some mandatory act required of us, but instead reflect the heart of Christ for the least of these. I know that each of you will give from Him.
With great, great love and affection for you all,
Your servant in Christ, +Chuck
